Life is infinite learning and growing, but gosh can it be hard to enjoy the journey with no destination in mind!
You and I, were in the in-between. We’re in limbo. Life isn’t about getting somewhere, it’s about the steps you take along the way. The destination is the journey. And your destination will change constantly over the course of your life. Having nothing figured out is the most natural human state.
I’ll let you in on a secret: no one has everything figured out. If they say they do, they probably have the concrete stuff (like finances, for example, or their career) figured out. Newsflash: this isn’t everything. Having things like your mortgage and your 9-5 set in stone is completely achievable by anyone! It’s the gray areas that I seek to uncover for you, and in turn, uncover for myself along the way.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “This sounds awful preachy for a twenty-something white girl from New England. What does she know about life?”
Well, when you’ve battled depression and anxiety for as long as I have, you start to become a sponge to the perspectives of those around you. You begin to create solutions for yourself by stepping into other people’s shoes. You try to figure it out, just like everyone else is.
I’m Amber: a creative nonfiction writer, graphic designer, and student of anything that interests me. I’m here to share what I’ve learned in my life so far in the hopes that it will help some of you figure some things out. You’ll see posts about self-care, health, yoga, travel, and anything else I can think of. I’ll also share some creative personal essay and poetry, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Thanks for reading this far! You must be really interested in what I have to say! Awesome!
I won’t keep you much longer, but there are a few necessary tidbits I need to cover:

Okay, back to your regularly-scheduled About page! Take a look through the posts and find just what you need to get closer to “figuring it out.” As much as I want to teach you, I also want to learn from you. Feel free to drop me a line, comment on the posts, and interact with other readers and myself. I hope to garner a community of support and safety for you and I, The Vulnerable Ones.
Let’s embrace the in-between together.
