The Autumn Tag: A Season of Change

Autumn is such a fleeting time of year; it seems that this season is becoming shorter and shorter as climate change sweeps the world, so it’s only appropriate to celebrate the cool weather and beautiful colors with an Autumn Tag!

The rules are simple: answer the questions, tag others to continue the tag, provide the questions for them, and thank the person who tagged you. Easy enough!

Thanks to Emily at That Weird Girl Life for tagging me! Check out her blog and give her a follow⏤especially if you’re a bookworm, like me.

The Questions

What Signifies Autumn to you?

Definitely the smell of the leaves just starting to turn, and the cooler nights near the end of summer. It’s a time of comforting change.

What Is the Best Way to Spend a Rainy Day?

Allowing myself a break from the hustle and bustle, lighting some candles, and watching re-runs or reading. Sometimes blogging, when I have the motivation!

What Is Your Most Fond Autumn Memory?

Autumn is cross country season for high schoolers, and I was obsessed. I shared some great memories with my teammates, and really enjoyed pushing myself and running distances most people would call crazy (like the 15-mile run I did toward the end of my high school career!)

What is Your Favorite Autumn Scent?

Anything that resembles the smell of fallen leaves, cinnamon and cloves, and hot apple cider. Apples are my absolute favorite fruit, and autumn is their time to shine! I guess I can’t really pick a favorite, huh?

What Are You Most Excited About This Autumn?

Definitely getting back into a routine of taking care of myself. I neglected my body over the summer, but having S.A.D. makes me concentrate on chasing my blues away with self care: going to the gym, getting plenty of sleep, hydrating, and taking care of my skin all help me to feel much better during this time.

What Is Your Favorite Autumn Song?

Oh gosh, most of my iTunes library is autumnal-sounding songs! Fleet Foxes are basically autumn in musical form, and Lord Huron have my ear lately.

What Is Your Favorite Autumn Movie?

Well, I don’t associate movies with seasons so much, but it would probably be Hocus Pocus around Halloween.

What TV Show Are You Most Looking Forward to This Autumn?

It’s finished now, but The Mindy Project was highly anticipated on my end! Cannot believe the series is over!

What Is Your Favorite Autumn Color?

Definitely a tie between wine and forest green! I love their moody qualities.

What Is Your Most Loved Outdoor Autumn Activity?

Hiking, for sure! The smell of the crisp air and fallen leaves is enough to bring someone into a meditative state.

What Is Your Favorite Autumn Fashion Trend?

Plum/wine lips! I love brooding-esque makeup during this time of year.

If You Could Have a Familiar/Spirit Animal, What Would It Be?

I would love to have an owl. They are so fascinating, and I’d like to think they are old souls. Some also love being pet, and it’s just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!

Name One Place You Wish You Could Visit During Autumn?

I would love to go to Ireland this time of year; late summer into early fall, ideally. I’d love to go there any time of year, but gosh it has to be beautiful there in autumn!

What Is Your Favorite Photo You Took Last Autumn?

autumn bridge
This was taken on a hike in early autumn last year. I loved the buildup of leaves where the water flowed underneath the makeshift bridge.

What Are You Being This Halloween?

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to dress up this year, but I handed out candy as a cat! A classic, in my opinion.
